(Telecompaper) Iliad subsidiary Free Mobile has become the fourth mobile network in France to announce the arrival of its 5G service, which is now available to new and existing customers taking a revamped version of the operator's EUR 19.99 plan. The company said that it is including 5G at no extra cost on what is currently the country's largest 5G network footprint, reaching almost 40 percent of the French population.

Singtel launches 5G network in Singapore, offers free trial to 20,000 customers

(Telecompaper) Singapore operator Singtel has launched its 5G non-standalone (NSA) network and introduced a 3-month trial for its residential and enterprise customers. Singtel says its network is capable of delivering 5G speeds of more than 1Gbps, by harnessing the 3.5GHz frequency band from the operator's newly expanded spectrum holdings as well as existing 2,100MHz spectrum and using dual connectivity. The Singtel 5G service will initially cover areas such as Harbourfront, Bugis and Dhoby Ghaut.

French operator Free launches near-live Ligue 1 highlights service

(Telecompaper) Iliad's subsidiary Free announced the availability of 'Free Ligue 1 Uber Eats', its new content service unveiled in July giving access to near-live highlights of all Ligue 1 football games. The subscription will be offered at no extra cost with packages bundling Free's IPTV platform, while other non-TV customers (Freebox Crystal/Delta S) and those with a Free Mobile plan will be able to access the new service via a dedicated app on their smartphones. Users on promotional tariffs, however, are excluded from this offer.

French operator Free launches Freebox Pop triple-play bundle, revamps Delta package

(Telecompaper) Iliad's subsidiary Free has introduced its latest Freebox model (version 8), available with a new triple-play bundle priced EUR 39.99/month after the 12-month promotional offer (EUR 29.99/month). Named Freebox Pop, the 4K set-top-box (STB) runs on AndroidTV, supporting Google Assistant and Chromecast, and is compatible with Dolby Atmos. Round-shaped like the STB, the associated router features a MU-MIMO Wi-Fi chipset (Wi-Fi 5 standard), and comes with a separate booster for extended indoor coverage, which relies on multi-AP mesh Wi-Fi networking.
