Lawyers sue Microsoft over Surface RT 'unmitigated disaster'

Several law firms joined forces on Monday to sue Microsoft, accusing the company of misleading shareholders about sales of the Surface RT tablet and calling its entry into the tablet market an "unmitigated disaster." The lawsuit, which seeks class-action status, named several Microsoft executives as co-defendants, including CEO Steve Ballmer, former CFO Peter Klein, current marketing leader Tami Reller, and Frank Brod, the company's chief accounting officer.

Such a sizable group of critical patches once again underscores the need for users and organizations to update their copies of Internet Explorer. Their reluctance to upgrade has been a source of ongoing frustration for security professionals, who repeatedly warn of the dangers of unpatched browsers and remind everyone how easy it is to actually update.

There's another video game console fight coming, and Microsoft's Xbox One has a hard act to follow as it joins the fray. The Xbox 360 has been outselling both the Nintendo and Sony consoles for some time now. I'm guessing Microsoft felt it had an unfair advantage, because it apparently has been doing its level best to scare gamers away from the Xbox One ever since it was announced.
