According to its chairman Marion C. Blakey, International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Association (ICCAIA) supports international aerospace community in seeking to replace Halon as aircraft fire extinguishing agent. This follows formation of Halon Alternatives for Aircraft Propulsion Systems (HAAPS) consortium and is in preparation for imposed ban on new production of Halon by international protocol regarding substances that deplete Earth's ozone layer.

Carbonite rejects J2 Global's $415M takeover offer, explores alternatives

Boston-based online backup firm Carbonite said last Friday that it rejected the $415 million takeover offer from California-based J2 Global , but opened up the possibility of a sale of the company at some point in the future. J2 Global , an Internet services firm, had offered to buy Carbonite for $15 per share, a premium over Friday's closing price of $13.90 - or $415 million in cash.
