A former baggage handler at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has been arraigned on federal firearms charges after prosecutors say he was part of a scheme to smuggle guns from Atlanta to New York, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced last week. Eugene Harvey was formally charged with conspiring to carry dangerous weapons on an aircraft, firearms trafficking, and illegally entering an airport area to evade security and commit crimes on Feb. 18, according to the Attorney's Office.

A licensed real estate agent who sells multimillion-dollar estates on Nantucket repeatedly told police and witnesses the Westfield couple he is accused of striking while driving drunk appeared "out of nowhere" on Route 28 in West Yarmouth on Saturday night, according to court records made public yesterday. Westfield firefighter Kevin J. Regan, who was killed, and his fiance, Lynda M. Cavanaugh, who was badly injured, were lifetime members of the private Sons of Erin Cape Cod club on Route 28, where drunken driving suspect Paul G. Dennehy, 55, of South Yarmouth told police he and his wife, Cathy, had last been prior to heading home before the fatal crash on the same road.

The former Chief Executive Officer and President of Arrow Trucking Company is facing bank and tax fraud charges after an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Internal Revenue Service. Pielsticker was indicted by a grand jury in a 23-count indictment on December 1. Those documents were unsealed Friday and reveal one charge of conspiring to commit bank fraud, 15 counts of bank fraud, one count of conspiring to defraud the IRS, three counts of tax evasion and three counts of failing to account for and pay over payroll taxes.
