A Southwest Airlines flight was briefly delayed at San Francisco International Airport this morning after runway crews smelled an unusual odor coming from two bags being loaded onto the plane, an airport duty manager said. The incident involved Southwest Flight 2436, which was scheduled to depart at 6 a.m. from SFO to Chicago Midway International Airport, SFO duty manager Cathy Morrison said.

Stefan Myers, a spokesman for Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said the fire was reported at about 10:25 a.m. on One Bowerman Drive between the Mia Hamm and Jerry Rice buildings on the sprawling campus. Myers said the truck was parked about 5 feet from the building but firefighters were able to quickly put it out.

Consumers Energy says more than 700 workers are clearing trees away from electric lines for the utility across Michigan as part of an effort to improve service. The unit of Jackson-based CMS Energy Corp. says Monday that it spent more than $40 million on forestry statewide last year.

Crews on scene after sewer line overflows on Dorchester Road

Crews are on the scene of an overflowed sewer line at the intersection of Dorchester Road and Wescott Boulevard and say it could be several hours to repair. A breach in a sanitary sewer line caused raw sewage to enter the storm drain system and ditches at Wescott Boulevard and Avana at Wescott Plantation and the retention ponds near Harris Teeter and Fort Dorchester Elementary School, according to the Dorchester County Water and Sewer Department.
