We'll see when the Dallas-based semiconductor company reports its first-quarter financial results tomorrow after the market closes. Some 30 analysts polled by Thomson One/Reuters expect TI to post earnings per share of 62 cents for the first quarter, up 42 percent form a year earlier.

Canada's main stock exchange turned negative shortly after the open, as weaker natural resource stocks and bank issues, the index's most influential groups, dragged the market lower. The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index fell 42.98 points, or 0.28 per cent, to 15,369.62.
