City, MTA sued in fatal pedestrian accident in Arrochar

The city and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority created a "hazardous" condition on an Arrochar street last year during entrance-ramp work to the nearby Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, resulting in a 77-year-old pedestrian being fatally struck by an SUV, a lawsuit alleges. The estate of Valentyna Shevchenko has sued the city, its Transportation Department, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority over the July 31, 2014 incident at the intersection of Lily Pond Avenue and Narrows Road South.
