Aggreko warns on yearly profit

Aggreko PLC Friday said its earnings will fall short of expectations this year as the U.K.-based temporary power provider reels from impacts ranging from fighting in Yemen to weakening demand from the U.S. shale industry. The company said its full-year pretax profit will fall to between GBP250 million and GBP270 million , compared with analysts' expectations which stood at GBP294 million on average according to Aggreko's website.

Texas Instruments posts slightly higher Q2 profit on lower revenue, warns of a worse Q3

As Texas Instruments Inc. warned three months ago, its second-quarter financial results were lukewarm and it forecast that the July-to-September quarter will be even worse. The Dallas-based chipmaker today reported a slightly higher second-quarter profit on lower revenue as the company continued to battle weak demand in certain areas and big drops in foreign currency exchange rates relative to the strong U.S. dollar.

Jacksonville-based CSX warns it will be hard to hit profit goals for year

CSX expects faltering demand for coal and crude oil to slow profit growth this year, but the railroad will limit expenses and work to raise rates to compensate. Railroad executives said Wednesday it will be difficult to deliver results near the upper end of their forecast for mid-to-high single-digit earnings per share growth in 2015.
