Basel-based Syngenta, which makes agricultural products designed to improve crop productivity, said that sales this year are expected to be broadly unchanged at constant exchange rates while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization will remain flat after rising 1% last year. "We expect to offset the impact of currency devaluations in emerging markets through price increases," Chief Executive Mike Mack said in a statement.

Budget airline Ryanair today lifted its profit guidance as boss Michael O'Leary hailed a revamp designed to improve its image and attract business customers. Ryanair now expects an annual profit of 840million to 850m euros , up from previous guidance of 810m to 830m million euros , but cautioned of "modest" growth in the following financial year.

Three troubled Jacksonville pensions are among 19 statewide that received "call to action" letters Tuesday informing them their unfunded liabilities are unacceptable and need to be fixed now.
