These results have direct application to production and therefore pork producers will find this information to be valuable as they make management decisions that affect productivity and profitability. The webinar will be presented by the principle investigator from each project and webinar participants will have the opportunity to interact with the investigator following the presentation.  Previous webinars in this series were Aug. 2 with Joel DeRouchey presenting Alternatives to Antibiotics: Best Management Practices; Aug. 9 with Robin Anderson presenting Efficacy of thymol as a practical, cost-effective, easy-to-administer prebiotic; and Aug. 16 with William Oliver presenting Effect of lysozyme or antibiotics in ameliorating the effects of an indirect disease challenge. read more

Kyle Schulte joins Ralco as a swine research nutritionist

Ralco announced today that Kyle Schulte has joined in the role of Swine Technical Service and Research Nutritionist for animal nutrition. Schulte received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Studies and a Master of Science in Animal Science, both from Iowa State University. read more

Update on Swine Enteric Coronavirus Disease in US

US - The number of pig farm samples that were confirmed positive for porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus (PEDV) in the last week was six. There was one premises confirmed with having porcine delta coronavirus (PDCoV) and none with the dual infection (PEDV and PDCoV), in the 21 July 2016 report.
