Guardian: As humans add greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, it not only warms the planet, but also raises the oceans. Ocean waters are rising for a number of reasons including thermal expansion of water (as water warms, it expands to a larger volume), as well as ice melt which then flows as liquid into the ocean. In an effort to protect the Juniata Locomotive Shops, three local economic development agencies have joined other organizations in the state to urge the U.S. Surface Transportation Board to critically scrutinize Canadian Pacific Railway's proposal to take over Norfolk Southern. "We're not saying 'don't do it,' but please take a hard look," said Patrick Miller, CEO of the Greater Altoona Economic Development Corp., which voted to send a letter to the STB, along with letters from GAEDC parent Altoona Blair County Development Corp. and the Blair County Chamber of Commerce.

Your smartphone or tablet is most likely pretty secure - not perfect, maybe, but generally unlikely to be hacked or to store, say, your email where other people could read it. The same can't be said for any Internet connected toys you may have purchased for your kids.
