Arizona trucking firm to create 87 jobs at new location in Michigan

Phoenix, Ariz.-based Knight Transportation announced it will create 87 new jobs and invest $574,000 at its first Michigan branch at 555 Fourth Street NW. "The new branch will house the company's 'solutions team,' focused on leveraging all of Knight Transportation's capabilities and technology to create an efficient high service solution for their customers," according to a news release issued on Wednesday, March 23. The 25-year-old company has become one of North America's largest and most diversified truckload transportation companies since it was founded as a family-owned business.
Trucking industry concerned about size of vessel for ferry service

The trucking industry says it needs to know that a ferry saiing between Yarmouth and Portland in 2016 and beyond will be able to accommodate them. A delay by Bay Ferries in announcing the type of vessel it plans on using for the Nova Scotia to New England ferry service this summer is causing concern in the trucking industry, says the executive director for the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association .
