Members and staff of the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri's La Monte site pose for a photo with a rather large check for $100,000 from Tyson Foods Inc., presented by Complex Manager Alan Johnston and Complex HR Manager Ben McFarlin Tuesday afternoon. The donation, one of the largest in the Club's history, will help fund the La Monte site once federal grants expire in 2017.

Sam's Club, the warehouse division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc, has tied up with online car-shopping service TrueCar Inc to make a full-fledged foray into auto sales, a fast-growing business for rival Costco Wholesale Corp. Until now Sam's Club had allowed a third-party auto-buying service to market cars through its website but had not operated its own program like Costco, which has quietly grown into one of the biggest players in the industry, selling nearly 400,000 vehicles last year. Sam's Club said on Thursday that its new program would give members access to more than 10,000 TrueCar dealers and guaranteed savings off the manufacturer's suggested retail price for new cars as well as deals on used cars.

India's high flyers have proudly welcomed the appointment as Google's new chief executive of Sundar Pichai, the latest home-grown engineer to rise to the top of the US corporate world. Pichai, named head of the Internet titan on Monday, was born to humble beginnings in the southern city of Chennai and studied engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur before heading to America to further his studies and career.
