(Telecompaper) The Italian government is preparing to ban China's Huawei and ZTE from building the country's 5G network infrastructure over security fears, according to unnamed sources from the defence and foreign affairs ministries cited by local daily La Stampa. The government will make use of the so-called 'golden power' legislation aimed at protecting strategic industries to enable a penalty-free withdrawal from contracts signed with the Chinese giants, said the sources.
