The Coca-Cola Company CEO Muhtar Kent will today identify value-added dairy as a top target category for still beverage retail value growth through to 2020. Coke reported its Q3 2014 results today, and Kent will tell investors that a challenging macro-economic environment meant slower industry and company growth versus internal targets With net sales down 0.4% year-on-year at $11.976bn for the three months ending September 26, and net income down 14% at $2.122bn, Kent will admit that Coke's execution in various markets, notably Europe, can be improved.

The head of a U.S. Senate subcommittee raised concerns in a letter on Thursday to the U.S. Attorney General and head of the top U.S. rail regulator about a potential merger between Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd.and CSX Corp., and called on them both to fully review the antitrust implications of any such deal. A merger would create a transcontinental carrier worth more than $60 billion.

Google Inc is preparing to test new technology that may provide the foundation for a wireless version of its high-speed "Fiber" Internet service, according to telecommunication experts who scrutinized the company's regulatory filings. In a public but little-noticed application with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission on Monday, Google asked the agency for permission to conduct tests in California across different wireless spectrums, including a rarely-used millimeter-wave frequency capable of transmitting large amounts of data.
