Standards Alliance Hosts Orientation for 16 Colombian officials.

As public-private partnership between ANSI and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Standards Alliance hosted Colombian officials – representatives of trade ministry, national standards bodies, accreditation bodies, regulators, and private sector – in Washington, D.C. Meetings held from November 30 to December 4, 2015 provided Colombian delegation with detailed orientation regarding public-private nature of U.S. system and served as forum for future collaboration.

Paper manufacturer to pay $180,000 for following DOT standards 1:21...

A Pennsylvania paper company has agreed to pay $180,000 to settle an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission disability discrimination lawsuit in which it was charged with violating federal law by requiring forklift operators to meet Dept. of Transportation standards, even though it is not required.
