Hawaii Biotech Inc. hopes to find a new laboratory space by the end of this year as its landlord, Diagnostic Laboratory Services , Inc., acquires its existing Aiea facility, Hawaii Biotech CEO Elliot Parks confirmed Thursday. The biotechnology company moved into its 99-193 Aiea Heights Dr. location in 1983.

Badly burned animal found on Oahu road

The Hawaiian Humane Society is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever left a badly burned dead animal on an Oahu road. Honolulu news station Hawaii News Now reports the animal was so badly disfigured when it was found in Salt Lake that it's unclear if it was a cat or a small dog.

Hawaii, told PBN that the drop in gas prices are pushing more and more businesses to Kapolei in West Oahu With gas prices in Hawaii at their lowest point in a half decade , more and more businesses in Honolulu are considering a relocation to Kapolei in West Oahu or in Waipio in Central Oahu, especially with industrial space in town extremely tough to find, according to an expert. "The recent drop of gas prices, although [it may be] temporary, may be the catalyst to help [business owners] make that decision to relocate," Cullen Oesterly, an associate in the Industrial Services group of CBRE Inc. Hawaii, told PBN.

Three Gap Inc. brands - Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic - will join Macy's , H&M, Forever 21 and AT&T at DeBartolo Development's planned 1.4-million-square-foot, $500 million Ka Makana Alii shopping mall in West Oahu. The mall, which will be anchored by Macy's, will be only the second shopping center in Hawaii to have the three Gap Inc. brands under one roof.

Volta Industries adding two electric car charging stations on Maui, more on Oahu next year

As the electric and hybrid vehicle industry reaches almost 8 percent of the vehicle market share in Hawaii, Volta Industries is adding two electric vehicle charging stations on Maui by Friday and plans to roll out more across Oahu in 2015. The two new stations will be located at the Whole Foods Market at the Maui Mall in Kahului, said Arden Penton , director of media and operations for the Honolulu company.
