Nokia names Lundmark to replace Suri as CEO from September

(Telecompaper) Nokia said it has appointed Pekka Lundmark as president and chief executive officer (CEO) to replace Rajeev Suri. Lundmark is expected to take up the new role on 01 September after leaving his current position as president and CEO of Finnish energy company Fortum. Suri had already told the board that he was considering stepping down at some point.

Nokia has named the head of its networks division, Rajeev Suri, as its new CEO from May 1. He will take over from company chairman Risto Siilasmaa, who has been serving as acting CEO. On Tuesday it also reported a profit for its continuing operations, but a drop in sales and an overall loss for the first quarter.
