Cerritos College, a two-year institution which boasts one of the finest automotive programs in the United States, is the latest school to include NAFAs Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) courses in its curriculum. Located in the greater Los Angeles, California area, Cerritos becomes the first West Coast school (and fourth overall) to offer NAFAs CAFM courses for college credit. Cerritos has a great partnership in the area with fleets and auto dealers, explained Rick Sikes, CAFM, Fleet Management Superintendent for the City of Santa Monica and Chair of NAFAs Fuels & Technology Advisory Council. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP), and the Department of Justice (DOJ) recently announced a settlement with Trans Energy Inc., requiring the oil and gas company to restore portions of streams and wetlands at 15 sites in West Virginia polluted by the company’s unauthorized discharge of dredge or fill material.
