Universal Stainless reports second quarter loss

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products today reported a second quarter loss, citing slumping demand from the oil and gas industry and customers who delayed purchases in anticipation of falling prices. The Bridgeville specialty steels producer said it lost $356,000, or 5 cents per share vs. earnings of $1.4 million, or 20 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.
