EGNOS Implementation Engineer

We are currently looking for a EGNOS Implementation Engineer to support our customer in Spain Madrid. Key Tasks and Responsibilities To support our customer in Spain, you will be part of the EGNOS implementation team, you will have the following responsibilities Maintaining the aviation EGNOS implementation database, both for aerodromes and for operators and avionics STCSB following the methodology in place. Maintaining the documentation describing the activities to be done by the Adoption team Crosschecking the information contained in the aviation EGNOS implementation database. Maintaining the documentation describing the contents and manuals of the implementation databases and supporting the maintenance of the related processes Developing the suitable macrosscripts data filtering, format conversions, data transfers, tools automation, etc. to automate as much as feasible the implementation databases daytoday routines Maintaining a snapshot of the implementation trend every six months implementation database is updated continuously but it is need to track the evolution every six months Contributing to the analysis of the impact of specific adoption actions in different market segments website visits, material downloads, social media impact Contributing to the exploitation of the available EGNOS adoption tools and demonstrators and to the reporting of the corresponding outcomes Supporting the drone exploitation, the maintenance of the drone setup and of the configuration documentation and contributes also to the analysis test logs after field campaigns Supporting the editorial process of the EGNOS Bulletin and other marketingpromotion material. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Engineering Master degree or equivalent qualification Minimum 2 years of experience in a technicalengineering professional environment, preferably within an international context Experience in useroriented tools exploitation Experience in basic programming andor scripting Knowledge of GNSS Services and applications desirable Fluency in English is mandatory. A knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Madrid. The program implementation engineer shall ensure that the GEO infrastructure deployed is coherent with the MEO mPOWER infrastructure and can be used as a base for future SESNext infrastructure. You will support the program manager to ensure timely delivery and execution of HTS Ground System requirements. You will support the management of implementation of all work streams for HTS Ground System. As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will conduct a site survey and input this information into the Site Specific Design Documentation. You will be responsible for ensuring the Site Specific Design meets current customer requirements and contractual obligations. You will produce a BoM for new active equipment that meets your Site Specific Design criteria. You will be responsible for the writing of configuration files for the new active hardware as well as installing the new equipment. Report progress on tasks as required to immediate supervisor or project manager. Develop a trusting and professional relationship with QA representatives. Decision making authority Make technical decisions within the build tasks, establishing the best solutions for the products in question. Act as customer representative by deciding upon the suitability of a solution or system through testing that the solution meets the specification. Problem solving responsibility Be able to isolate and demonstrate failures in the product or system built, identifying likely causes and solutions. Be capable of applying general principles and experience to solve complex problems. Creation of network rigs in line with specifications. Mission Implementation Engineer

Summary An opportunity for an engineer to provide support on site at ESTEC to the Earth Observation Directorate with the performance, design, development and verification of external radar calibration systems. Objective In the first hand the engineer will support the Sentinel1 Project with EndtoEnd simulators and calibration of the whole system, relating to the Synthetic Aperture Radar SAR payload. The role has three main aspects Mission calibration, EndtoEnd Mission Calibration and Performance and Calibration Targets transponders. Knowledge of SAR technologies, experience in Calibration devices radar and a background in microwave engineering would be suitable. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to the following tasks Specifying performance, design, development and verification approach for external radar calibration systems EndtoEnd Calibration and Performance Assessing mission performance by simulation and error analysis Monitoring the industrial activities concerning mission performance compliance Specifying mission operation scenarios for mission exploitation Conducting inhouse as well as external radar studies Supporting the project team, in hisher area of expertise Reviewing the project documentation as produced throughout the project lifetime Participating in project meetings and reviews Support precommissioning work relating to calibration equipment Qualifications Experience University degree MSc minimum in Aerospace Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline. 4 years relevant industrial experience and general knowledge of ESA Earth Observation missions. A microwave engineering background with experience in SAR Technologies and SAR processing would be an asset. Experience in Calibration Devices radar and space hardware is highly relevant.
