Technical Coordinator Ghana Accra ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Technical Coordinator participates actively in the establishment and maintenance of a future DTH television broadcast service in Ghana driven by a global company playing a significant role in the telecommunications market of contributing and distributing television transport streams by satellite and other network infrastructure. The Technical Coordinator links comprehensive knowledge regarding the architecture of DTH broadcast platforms with a sense to develop solutions tailored to the local market demands and preferences of people in Ghana. The primary duties and responsibilities are to arrange the local technical operational tasks necessary to run our broadcast platform, support with and clarification of SetTop Box STB related issues, communicate with contributors and distributors of television transport streams, operators and system engineers, do some extensive testing for quality assurance purposes, write some reports in English language and finally verify the local reach of our future television broadcast service in Ghana in order to turn it into success. The position holder should be openminded, likes to communicate, should have a profound understanding of technological systems and should be eager to engage in a local team of broadcast professionals and will act as a problem solver interfacing with global teams in Germany and Luxembourg. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Coordinate the local technical operational tasks necessary to run our broadcast platform Gain detailed knowledge about our future broadcast platform solution Coordination of technical set up of new TV channels Clarify technical requirements with TV channel operators Coordinate encoder installation at the premises of TV channel operators Arrange upgrade of headend capacity, if required Manage interfacing with all other technological and nontechnological departments Coordination of operational support of encoders at premises of TV channel operators Continuously check of platform capacity in total and remaining system capacity Planning and coordination of up and downscaling of system capacity Technical support of TV channel operators, developers of backend and frontend system components, consumer electronics distributors and of a call centre Support of partners to interface with a CRM system Able to maintain product, subscriber and payment data in a CRM system Interface with third parties regarding CRM system maintenance Interface with third parties regarding USSD service maintenance Interface with third parties regarding maintenance of payment services Technical support with and clarification of SetTop Box STB related issues in the market Test of SetTop Boxes against the encrypted DVB platform Assist a call centre in SetTop Box related processes Technical support with and clarification of OVP OTT related issues in the market Being the interface between platform operations and solution development Communicate to solution development team in Germany and other internal departments Interface with solution development team in order to coordinate the rollout of new platform features Continuous testing of existing and new platform services Provide feedback about operational status to development teams Collect feedback from endconsumer market and partners e.g. consumer electronic distributors concerning technological issues and usability of our services and products Support in solving edge cases concerning the CRM system and its processes COMPETENCIES Profound competences in understanding technological problems by breaking it apart into component pieces and organising it in a logical way whilst grasping the complexities and perceiving relationships among issues. Sense to grasp new information quickly while ensuring understanding and eagerness to transform the information for communication with colleagues and stakeholders. Ability to set priorities on a wellreasoned basis and present alternative solutions as necessary. Will to articulate and explain own position and perspective. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE University degree in some field of engineering like Media Technologies or equivalent Experienced professional in the broadcast or telecommunications industry in Ghana Profound skills in solving technological issues and willing to communicate Having endurance and eager to learn quickly Good skills in speaking and writing English Other West African languages like Ga or Akan are a plus as well as speaking German Willingness to travel in Ghana and abroad Being creative and open minded would be beneficial Whats in it for you? Technical Operations Support Coordinator CGIexperience the commitment Category Information Technology City Paris, Ain, France Position ID J08161017 Employment Type Full Time Position Description The Galileo Security Facility GSF forms part of the Galileo PRS Public Regulated Service and will be operated from Saint GermainenLaye GSMC1, just outside Paris and from the NATS in Swanick, Hampshire GSMC2. The Primary centre will be the French Site with UK site at Swanick as the backup site. We require an onsite Technical Operations Support Coordinator for the GSMC Galileo Security Monitoring Centre client site in SaintGermainenLaye Office in Paris. You will report to the CGI onsite Operations Support Manager and will be required to work with GSMC users and operators to support them as they bring the GSMC into operational use and how they manage and support the CGI systems as part of their day to day operations. This is a key and strategic role, the GSF system in the GSMC is a highly secure and technically comprehensive system so it can deliver its required PRS capability. To do this the system must be managed and maintained and operated correctly, and this role is designed to give the users the necessary support, direction and understanding for them to do so and operate the system effectively and efficiently. The role will require handling of classified material, therefore you should ensure that you are familiar with the appropriate procedures for handling classified material at the GSMC site and that you follow these procedures. The role onsite at the GSMC is 5 days per week. You need to be already Security Cleared and an a UKEU resident. Some on call service outside working hours may also be required for time to time. Responsibilities will include Provide operational procedure support and instruction to users and operators of the system. Provide training support and instruction. Pre training will be provided on the GSF system and deployed test tools at the CGI offices in Leatherhead before deployment to the GSMC site. Work with the GSA and other agencies to ensure the overall site operation of the GSMC is maintained and supported. Support the management of site spares and asset management control, particularly for security devices. Work with the various security teams to ensure correct implementation of transportation and delivery of secure items. Support change and fault observation review boards Assist with fault and issues investigation and work with the support teams in LHD to identify and where possible resolve issues. Supporting the onsite teams, ensuring clearances and access etc and being a key point of contact. Raise any significant site issues including any safety issues with the CGI Operations Support Manager. Ensure you manage and work to the defined GSMC Operations Manuals and Maintenance procedures defined for the system. Also work with the team s in LHD to further develop and enhance these procedures with experience and input from users. Support and assist in the management of system upgrades of software andor hardware. Support and manage the installation of critical security patches. Develop an understanding of the GSMC systems, and become the key technical CGI system expert. Interaction with Others. You should liaise regularly with the members of the GSF project team in Leatherhead UK and Toulouse FR. In particular, you should help to ensure that we work together as a coordinated team and that we are all kept aware of events or client activities that affect the project and its activities. Some occasional travel to these offices will be required. Work with the Thales France and CGI GSMC representatives to ensure we have a coordinated and joined up approach to activities and issues occurring on the site. Work with ESA and the GSA to conduct multisite testing and interface proving.
