Vestas Wind Systems (Vestas) has installed more than 6,053MW of wind turbines in 2014, retaining its position as the leading wind turbine installer worldwide, according to a report published by research and consulting firm GlobalData.

Ensuring safe activation/deactivation of electric equipment under load, 3KD series includes 6-pole switch disconnectors designed for PV systems in which voltages up to 1,200 Vdc are generated. Permissible AC operating voltage tolerance of 3- and 4-pole units meets requirements of IEC 60947 standard for wind farms. While able to safely power down systems with voltages of 690 Vac (+10%), series is suitable for currents up to 1,600 A and can be used as repair and emergency stop switches.

Wind doubles spectrum rights in Canadian auction

(Telecompaper) The Canadian government raised CAD 2.11 billion in the AWS-3 auction. Over half the frequencies in the auction were reserved for newcomers to the market, such as Wind Mobile. Wind acquired 30-MHz licences in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario for a total CAD 56.4 million, resulting in a 180 percent increase in its spectrum rights. Other winning bidders were Bell Wireless, Telus, Eastlink and Quebecor. Another auction will follow soon in April, for the 2.5GHz band.
