Ninety-nine percent of the time, the car steered itself; only in very tricky situations, like a construction zone, did drivers take control. Now engineers will take the reams of data from the trip and use it to further advance autonomous technology.
Former Sequim car dealer sentenced for meth distribution, possession

The former owner of the Sellin' Style car dealership in Sequim was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to 11 years in prison and five years of supervised release for methamphetamine possession and sales. Timothy P. Smith 31, pleaded guilty in January to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, said acting U.S. Attorney Annette L. Hayes.

California drought continues to dry up car sales

California Governor Jerry Brown's new edict for restricting water use in his drought stricken state is expected to hit automotive dealerships there harder than ever, and isn't just about keeping vehicles on the lot "clean and shiny," although many dealers have been using recycled water for a long time. It is more about the fact that consumers in many of the agricultural parts no longer have enough disposable income to purchase new vehicles, and it is expected to get worse now that Brown's order requires the State Water Resources Control Board to reduce the water usage of California's 400 local water supply agencies by 25% compared to levels 2 years ago.

United Way surprises giveaway winner with new car

Representatives from Allen Samuels Hyundai and United Way of Smith County surprised Mel Morgan with a 2015 Hyundai donated by Allen Samuels in Tyler, TX. Morgan was surprised with the keys to the car in a "Publisher's Clearinghouse" style fashion at EOG Resources in Tyler.
