Jan 13 General Motors Co said on Wednesday it will return cash to shareholders by raising its stock buyback program by 80 percent to $9 billion and increasing its dividend by 6 percent. GM also raised its 2016 earnings per share forecast to $5.25 and $5.75 per share from a previous 2016 outlook made in October of between $5.00 and $5.50 per share.

Genesco cuts full-year profit outlook

The footwear and cap retailer said Friday that initiatives to reduce inventory at Lids through promotions and discounts hurt gross margins and led to lower profit guidance. Genesco now forecasts full-year adjusted earnings per share to be between $4.50 and $4.60, compared with its previous guidance of $4.70 to $4.80.

Shares of Whirlpool Corp rose in pre-market trading on Friday after the appliance maker revised its expectations for 2015 earnings per share but posted higher-than-expected third quarter earnings. Whirlpool revised its outlook full-year ongoing business earning per diluted share to $12 to $12.50 from $12 to $13.
