Jan 13 General Motors Co said on Wednesday it will return cash to shareholders by raising its stock buyback program by 80 percent to $9 billion and increasing its dividend by 6 percent. GM also raised its 2016 earnings per share forecast to $5.25 and $5.75 per share from a previous 2016 outlook made in October of between $5.00 and $5.50 per share.

1-Anadarko raises Q4 oil sales volume outlook, sees lower spending

Dec 17 U.S. oil and natural gas company Anadarko Petroleum Corp raised the midpoint of forecast for oil sales volume and expects lower spending during the current quarter and next year as well. The Houston, Texas-based company raised the midpoint of fourth-quarter oil sales-volume forecast by more than 15,000 barrels of oil per day to a range of 314,000 to 319,000 bopd.
MTS raises outlook as revenues increase 7% in Q3

(Telecompaper) Revenues of Russian and CIS operator MTS Group grew by 7.4 percent year-on-year in the third quarter to RUB 115 billion, led by demand for data services and smartphones. Adjusted OIBDA totaled RUB 48 billion, down by 2.4 percent, and the adjusted OIBDA margin was 41.7 percent. MTS said OIBDA was impact by cost inflation, margin pressure outside Russia and new commercial policies in its retail network. Net profit dropped by 6.4 percent to RUB 14.4 billion, hurt by forex losses. MTS raised its guidance for the full year and now expects annual revenue growth of around 4 percent, compared to a previous outlook for at least 2 percent growth. The company maintained its forecast for an OIBDA margin of over 40 percent and capital expenditure of around RUB 92 billion over the full year. In Russia, revenues grew by 4.7 percent to RUB 103.92 billion in the third quarter, while OIBDA declined 2.1 percent to RUB 44.53 billion amid higher costs for increased smartphone sales. Mobile revenues, including sales of devices, grew by 6.4 percent to RUB 90.6 billion, led by 20.2 percent growth in data revenues to RUB 20.6 billion. The subscriber base grew by 3.6 million compared to a year ago to 76.9 million at the end of September, while ARPU dropped by 4.6 percent to RUB 341.

NTT raises FY outlook on lower costs, improving sales

(Telecompaper) Japan's NTT Group raised its outlook for full-year results, citing improved growth overseas, expanding 'smart life' services at home and cost control efforts. The company now expects annual revenues for the year to March 2016 of JPY 11.40 trillion, up by JPY 50 billion from its previous forecast. The operating profit outlook increased by the same amount to JPY 1.25 trillion, and net profit by JPY 25 billion to an estimated JPY 655 billion. The results for the fiscal first half show the operator well on its way to achieving the targets. Revenues for the six months to September rose 4.0 percent year-on-year to JPY 5.589 trillion, and operating profit was up 24.1 percent to JPY 733.5 billion. Net profit increased 30.0 percent to JPY 377.3 billion, driven by reduced costs and lower taxes. NTT slightly reduced its capex forecast for the full year, by JPY 30 billion to JPY 1.630 trillion. In the first half, capex totaled 622.2 billion.
