Government attorneys, in a court filing Monday, said the state's decision has been slowed in part by the recent change in administration.

The government-appointed Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee has released its recommendations to the Secretaries of USDA and Health and Human Services (HHS). The recommendations call for removing beef and other red meat from the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and are now up for public comment. USDA and HHS are expected to consider the DGAC report and release the final report later this year. Yes, I plan to comment. Yes, I plan to contact my elected representatives in Congress. Yes, I plan to comment and contact my elected representatives. No, I wont do anything. Don't know.

Reuters: Individual EU nations will be able to ban cultivation of genetically modified (GM) crops under a compromise deal agreed on Tuesday that ends years of deadlock over the barbed issue and could actually boost GM farming. A list of GM products is awaiting EU approval and Tuesday's vote in the European Parliament opens the way for the authorities to review it. EU member states will be able to opt out of any eventual GM approvals, but environment campaigners said the new law was not robust enough....
