TE Subcom finishes Hibernia Express submarine cable system

(Telecompaper) TE SubCom, a TE Connectivity company and an industry pioneer in undersea communications technology, completed the new Hibernia Express submarine cable system. The 4,600-kilometre cable provides the lowest-latency fibre-optic path between New York and London, connecting Halifax, Nova Scotia and Brean, UK, with terrestrial fibre to extend connectivity to the major metro areas. In order to achieve Hibernia Networks' low latency goal, the engineered route traverses seabed locations that are more challenging than traditional transatlantic routes.

With steady tone and clear loudspeaker, Tone and Probe Set (P/N TP150) can trace and identify cable locations on jacks or through walls. Pushbutton activates tone scanning, tapered probe tip penetrates wire bundles, and probe volume is controlled via side thumbwheel. Along with 100 Hz to 300 KHz sensitivity, features include tone generator with slide switch to select TONE/OFF/CONT, continuity mode to verify broken wire, alligator clips to test pairs, and RJ11 connector for data or phone lines.
