Millicom acquires Panama's Cable Onda for USD 1 bln

(Telecompaper) Millicom has announced an agreement to buy a controlling 80 percent stake in Panamanian cable provider Cable Onda for a cash consideration of around USD 1.002 billion. The transaction values 100 percent of Cable Onda at an enterprise value of USD 1.460 billion and, subject to customary closing conditions and consent from Cable Onda's bondholders, is expected to close by the end of 2018.

Millicom acquires Cable Onda in Panama

Millicom has announced that it is acquiring a controlling 80% stake in Cable Onda, a cable and telecommunications service provider in Panama. The transaction values 100% of Cable Onda at an enterprise value of $1,460 million, with a cash consideration of approximately $1,002 million.

Vodafone Germany launches first gigabit cable connections in Bavaria

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Germany announced the launch of its gigabit cable broadband service to around 400,000 households in Bavaria. Nuremberg, Landshut, Dingolfing and Fuerth are the first cities to receive the service, which is offered for a promotional price of EUR 19.99 per month the first year.

(Telecompaper) With the auction of Sky ending a long takeover battle, a spectrum auction in Italy going into overdrive and potentially explosive regulatory news from the Netherlands the European telecoms sector proved to be anything but dull. Share price performance in week 39 ranged between -8 percent and +35 percent. Our index lost 0.5 percent, performing slightly better than the EuroStoxx 50 index at -0.9 percent. Intelsat extended its year-to-date gain to no less than 800 percent.
