MORRISON – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train just east of the Cherry Street railroad tracks early this morning, Police Chief Brian Melton said in a news release. About 3 a.m., Union Pacific Railroad called the Whiteside County Sheriff's Department about the incident, the release said.

World Wide Technology opening office in Denver, will hire 70 this year

World Wide Technology Inc., which helps large companies use technology better, on Friday opened a Denver office and plans to hire 70 people this year. The company, which employs 3,000 worldwide, said the office at 2300 15th St. will be its second largest, behind its St. Louis headquarters.
