Dutch pay-TV market set to lose more subscribers, revenue fall to start from 2020

(Telecompaper) The number of pay-TV subscribers in the Netherlands has been falling since 2015 and is set to drop further in the coming years, according to the latest research from Telecompaper. As the traditional cable subscription is giving way to new forms of watching TV and video, operators will start seeing their revenues from TV services fall as well from 2020.

MTN changes CEOs in Zambia, Rwanda, Cote d'Ivoire

(Telecompaper) MTN Group announced that MTN Zambia CEO Philip van Dalsen will be leaving MTN at the end of September. Van Dalsen joined MTN in 2012 as CEO of MTN Cyprus. In January, he moved to MTN Zambia in the same capacity. MTN Rwanda CEO Bart Hofker will take over the reins from van Dalsen, effective October. Hofker is a senior commercial telecom executive with extensive experience in mobile, fixed and integrated businesses, the company said.

US states confirm antitrust investigation into Google dominance in online ads, search

(Telecompaper) Taxes Attorney General Ken Paxton has confirmed an investigation into Google's business practices, looking at its "overarching control" of online advertising markets and search traffic and whether this may have led to anticompetitive behavior that harms consumers.
