Thorn Satellite Data Services Thorn SDS is seeking a ACES GS Engineer to join their team. Thorn SDS is an independently owned service organisation specialising in the placement, management and development of technical and engineering staff within a wide range of European Space Programmes. From our offices in Darmstadt, Germany, we support supports and manage a growing team of multidisciplined Space professionals. We are constantly looking to grow and develop the team and have many opportunities for candidates looking to further their careers or experience within this business. We are particularly interested in speaking to ambitious individuals, committed to learning and developing their skills in a highly technical environment. The key candidate for this position will have a background in segment implementation and validation, with an emphasis on SW AIV along with extensive experience in project management as well as formal interface management. Typical tasks and responsibilities will include Technical coordination between the 3 contracts to achieve integration, readiness for the GS for operations. External interfaces coordination, coordinating in cooperation with CADMOS, the finalisation and updates of external ICDs and Service Level Agreements. Supervision of AIV activities at CADMOS Sustainability of the GS definition and oversight of maintenance implementation for the ACES GS system, the network of MWL GTs, and external interfaces. Change management several changes will be made to the system during 2015 and 2016 which shall be coordinated and supervised. In particular the candidate shall coordinate the acceptance of the science data processing capabilities and coordinate with the ESA ACES IWG for this purpose. Coordinate with the Security Control Board and CADMOS for matters of GS security implementation and process. Attend various boards or working groups in particular the ACES JWG as needed. Submit a monthly report on the ACES GS activities. Change management deliverables shall include proposals for ECRs or modifications of configurations and validation reports of the changed GS capabilities. All applicants must be able to work effectively in English, both spoken and written. Familiarisation with the ISS programmatic environment would be considered advantageous.
