Ajilon Technology Aerospace is looking for an Antenna SubMillimetre Waves Engineer E3 for an opportunity at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands General tasks to be performed The antenna section provide the antenna support to all space applications being Telecommunication, Navigation, Earth Observation Science and human Spaceflight. The technical domain of expertise can be seen through the different activitiesproductsinstruments that are covered by the section Reflector antennas. Feed systems including multifrequency and high power capability. Array antennas direct radiating or associated with a reflector. Frequency and polarisation sensitive surfaces. Passive and Active Beam Forming Networks. Fixed and mobile user terminal. Low gain antennas. Submillimetre wave instruments and technologies. Antenna analysis and optimisation with knowledge on antenna and components modelling tools POS, GRASP, HFSS, .... Antenna and payload measurement and test techniques. The contractor will report to the Head of the Antenna and Submillimetre Wave Section of the Electromagnetics and Space environment Division. The general responsibilities of the contractor will be in two main areas The contractor will be preparing and monitoring Research and Development activities in the field of Antennas. A diverse range of tasks will have to be carried out by the contractor within the above activity domain, encompassing hardware, software and system aspects. The contractor will provide antenna technical support to ESA projects. This includes inhouse design and tradeoff studies to support both developments and reviews. Tasks will require the analysis and design of reflector antennas and arrays and the calculation of the interference effects between antennas and the spacecraft structure. Note that for these two areas, the contractor will have to support all antenna development stages from design, analysis up to measurements. When in charge of research and development or project support, the contractor will handle direct interfaces with the prime activity contractors, participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and discussions. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Background and expertise covering several of the technical domains described in the General tasks section above. Knowledge of antenna Space constraints at RF, mechanical, thermal and environmental levels gained from the handling of Flight Model development or RD development at high TRL level. Knowledge of antenna industrial manufacturing and testing processes. Expertise in using antenna modelling tools GRASP8, POS4, CHAMP as a minimum. Knowledge regarding antenna testing.
