(Telecompaper) Apple announced plans to open a Design and Development Accelerator in Bengaluru, India in order to support local iOS developers. In a visit to India, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the initiative will provide additional, specialized support for the "tens of thousands" of iOS developers in India. At the new centre, Apple experts will lead briefings and provide one-on-one app reviews for developers. The facility will also provide support and guidance on Swift, Apple's programming language. The iOS App Design and Development Accelerator is expected to open in early 2017.
