Development, if any, of this system is expected to be slow to occur during the next couple of days while the system moves generally westward at about 15 mph. This system is forecast to cross into the Central Pacific Basin by the weekend, where environmental conditions look unfavorable for further development. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...low...10 percent. Central East Pacific: An area of low pressure located about 1200 miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula continues to produce a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
