All members of our recruitment team have extensive space experience, so have the insight necessary to support you through the application process. For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for an Atmospheric Motion Vector Image Processing Software Engineer. The engineer shall work in the Remote Sensing and Products Division RSP, supporting the routine operations of the MSG Meteorological Product Extraction Facility MPEF. In this facility, geophysical products level 2 , such as cloud, wind and radiance products, are produced operationally from METEOSAT data. These products are continuously generated and disseminated in near real time to the user community. The Key person will be involved in the implementation of updates to product algorithms of the MSG MPEF, as well as in developing supporting software tools as required. The key person shall be primarily responsible for the software that generates the MTP and MSG MPEF Atmospheric Motion Vector AMV products. This responsibility will in general include anomaly investigation and correction, algorithm enhancements and tuning, and collaborating with the operations engineers responsible for daytoday monitoring of the performance of the AMV product. Future activities will include improvements to algorithm performance, algorithm scalability, etc., based on the medium term product plans on improving MPEF for MTP and MSG and the preparation of the AMV algorithm for MTG. The last task will specifically include support to a prototype processor for MTG. Another wind product is generated from the EPS Metop satellites Polar Wind Product, where the Key person shall provide support in the area of product monitoring and algorithm updates. Within RSP, the key person will work in the team of the Atmospheric and Imaging Applications AIA in the group responsible for the scientific product development and implementation.
