HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for an AMV Support Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Atmospheric Motion Vector Support Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. Your responsibilities will include Algorithm software anomaly investigation and correction Design and implementation of algorithm enhancements or improvements Software feasibility analyses of proposed new product algorithms, or major algorithm upgrades Development of tools in support of product monitoring and product analysis Preparation of technical documents on product implementation issues Preparation of technical notes and reports as required Attendance at technical and RSPAIA team meetings as required Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in meteorology, atmospheric physics Several years experience of processing satellite or meteorological data Experience in the design, implementation, and testing of complex scientific algorithm software Proven experience of software development in C and Fortran in a UNIX environment Experience in software development using data visualisation and analysis tools Experience in configuration control of software and data Knowledge and experience in the area of Atmospheric Motion Vectors extraction or experience with image processing algorithms would be an advantage Experience in operational data processing would be an advantage Excellent communication both written and spoken and interpersonal skills Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Darmstadt. We are looking for candidates who are available from April 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.
