(Telecompaper) BT Group has reported revenue of GBP 4.59 billion for the third quarter ending 31 December 2013, up 2 percent from GBP 4.52 billion a year earlier, with adjusted EBITDA flat at GBP 1.53 billion. Adjusted profit before tax was up 8 percent to GBP 722 million, from GBP 666 million, with adjusted operating profit up 4 percent to GBP 867 million, from GBP 833 million. BT has now passed more than 18 million UK premises with its fibre broadband network. Openreach registered 339,000 net fibre connections in Q3, up 38 percent, with around 2.4 million homes and businesses now connected. BT added a record 228,000 net retail fibre broadband customers in Q3, up 14 percent, and now has around 1.9 million fibre broadband customers. The UK broadband market grew by 252,000 customers in Q3, of which BT's share of net additions was 60 percent or 150,000. BT ended the quarter with more than 2.5 million direct BT Sport customers.
