BT set to approve new Openreach fibre network investment - report

(Telecompaper) BT is set to approve a multi-billion pound investment to upgrade ageing copper phone lines to fibre-optic technology at a board meeting this week, reports The Telegraph. Sources indicate that BT will initially commit to rolling out fibre-optic broadband to an additional one million homes by 2020, on top of the 2 million homes already targeted.
