Chip Sales Projected to Decline in 2015

Market research firm Gartner Inc. trimmed its forecast for 2015 global semiconductor sales, saying it now expects chip sales to decline nearly 1% compared with 2014. If accurate, the forecast decline of 0.8% would be represent the first annual decline in sales for the semiconductor industry since 2012, when sales dipped by 2.6%.
