Communication Services Team Leader

As observations from our satellites become increasingly broadened, we are looking for an engineer to lead our team in developing and deploying network infrastructure, services and solutions for our current and emerging communication networks. This is an opportunity to ensure that EUMETSAT evolves its stateofthe art communications networks whilst ensuring availability, resilience and security in a 247 operational environment. Your role at EUMETSAT At EUMETSAT we operate and a fleet of satellites and payloads that support our mission. We therefore have experts in controlling satellites, and in parallel monitoring, delivering and interpreting the data that they produce for us. This information is used to forecast weather, sea surface temperatures and air quality. Our use of technology is vital to everyday life. You will bring your leadership skills to help our engineering team to focus on improving operational performance and to develop their skills to design, implement and deliver scalable network solutions. You will contribute to defining our roadmap, helping to translate the needs of our internal customers to enhance our ground segments for future satellite systems. Key to your success will be the management of service contracts and your ability to interact with suppliers of network products and services. You will bring excellent communication and performance management skills, and have the ability to translate complex technical information into customer terminology. We are a fast paced, operational organisation, working closely with users and partners from industry and space agencies. You will need to be customer focused and have experience of working in a service driven environment.
