Communications Technician Represented United States Mount Airy, Maryland YOUR JOB The Communications Technician will communicate directly with customers and uplink operators. The technician will measure RF carriers and perform satellite carrier accesses at the SES Payload Management Operations Center PMOC in accordance with established access procedures. The technician will also document events and activities and troubleshoot satellite service anomalies. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate professionally with customers via telephone and email Support customer requests satellite accesses, trouble resolution, etc. Operate test equipment and computersoftware applications to complete support tasks Perform technical testing and evaluations as necessary RF, EIRP, CN, etc. Follow established processes and procedures Analyze RF anomalies and troubleshoot troubles to resolution using logical methods Document activities and events appropriately Protect SES spacecraft and satellite bandwidth YOUR PROFILE Capable of problem solving Can resolve difficult or complicated challenges Decision maker Possesses ability to make timely, informed decisions that take into account the facts, goals, constraints, and risks Ability to work in a fastpaced environment Demonstrate excellent customer service skills Formal technical training satellite, RF engineering Minimum 2 years of experience in satellite communications and customer service, or equivalent technical training Associates degree or technical school strongly desired Demonstrated ability to operate an RF spectrum analyzer Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks, isolate problems and return services back to normal operation quickly Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint Must be US Citizen OR Green Card Holder Requires working nights, weekends, and holidays as jobschedule requires Must be proficient at speaking, reading, and writing the English language Secondary Languages are desired OUR OFFER In addition to a competitive salary and benefits package, we offer you a truly global opportunity in an exciting industry and all the support youll need for both your professional and personal development.
