Most currencies of low-income countries have dropped against the US dollar in May, with the Chinese renminbi falling 2.5% and the Pak. rupee even plunging by 4.5%. No less importantly, the pound has lost nearly 3% over current Brexit anxieties whereas the euro was staying at a very low level. With the Trump adiministration possibly raising import tariffs in coming weeks, the global textile supply chain should continue suffering in the months ahead.
