One of our German clients is looking for an experienced ground system engineer to provide support in the development and maintenance of its data multicasting system. The role would include the implementation of new hardware and software for the development of the system, including data receivers, multicast servers and transport services both locally and at remote sites. The work would include design, development, prototyping, implementation and testing of data system enhancements, plus supporting the daytoday maintenance and operation of the existing system. Individual tasks would involve generating and reviewing technical documentation, such as system requirements and design, ICDs, test plans and maintenance procedures. Maintenance and operations would include supporting configuration changes, investigating anomalies, implementing changes and validating subsequent system performance, anomaly tracking and reporting, etc. This key, selfstarting, responsible and autonomous role will require a minimum of three years experience of systems engineering in a similar environment highavailability systems, serverclient data distribution systems. Enduser support will be required, so an understanding and experience of requirements preparation analysis would be required, plus practical skills and experience of objectoriented software development and maintenance, LINUX system administration, etc. would be desirable.
