You will have the opportunity to provide engineering support to the GSI Computer Systems Management team in the area of database administration and engineering. The activities include the planning, the installation and the configuration of ORACLE database installations via individual service requests. These requests are issued in the form of Work Packages with a maximum effort allocation and cover activities ranging from the preparation planning of installations to actual installations, configuration and testing of database systems. This position is based in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Design, planning and preparation of the new ORACLE databases Design, planning and preparation of the new Postgres databases Database changes under Configuration Management control Administration support to the existing databases Test and prototype installations of the databases Database performance monitoring, tuning and enhancements Implementation and test of database backup and recovery Database migration support Oracle to Postgres Database services provided to EUMETSA T personnel Documentation of all activities performed. Provision of oncall service Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have expert knowledge in the field of database installation, configuration and tuning You have expert knowledge of ORACLE database products vl 1v12 enterprise edition You have expert knowledge of POSTGRES database You have knowledge of database programming You have knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning You are able to write technical documentation in English. You have experience of providing services in a 24 x 7 operational or production environment, with strict change control rules applied, The following skills would be highly desirable Knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB Certification in the area of the database administration How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
