(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom announced the introduction of a new public cloud built on the Cisco cloud platform and compliant with German data sovereignty legislation. T-Systems will operate and manage the new infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offering DSI Intercloud from its data centres in Germany. Companies of all sizes are able to order IT services such as computing, storage and networking in a pay-as-you-go model through Telekom's new cloud portal. The service is available without minimum purchase requirements and contract periods, starting from EUR 0.05 per hour. Additional storage starts at EUR 0.02 per GB. Through this offering, Telekom said it creates the foundation for a secure European Internet of Things that offers the highest availability and scalability for real-time analytics. Innovative platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings are slated to follow in the first half of next year.
