Design Authority, Global space project Category Information Technology City Leatherhead, Surrey, United Kingdom Position ID J01151836 Permanent Full Time Position Description The project requires experienced Design Authority to work on new developments for the Galileo full operational capability FOC, a contract won in mid 2011. This is an exciting opportunity to play a part in the development of Galileo, Europes satellite navigation system. The position is for a role on the Galileo Ground Segment function GSF Project in the Design Authority team. The project is starting a series of enhancements to provide the Full Operational capability for the Galileo satellite navigation programme. The Galileo KMFs manage the encryption keys used in the navigation services. Candidates should be capable of quickly picking up new concepts as the system is large and complicated, working to high standards of quality, and to agreed timescales either independently or as part of a team. The responsibilities will include Technical investigations, analysis, tradeoffs of solution options Technical rapid prototyping Technical management of system build scripts and procedures and COTS deployment Technical management of upgrade deployment scripts and procedures to update the operational systems Market assessment of COTS products for obsolescence replacement programme Qualification Experience Essential Skills Linux Unix configuration, software installationbuild, shell scripting Quick learner Desirable Skills Lowlevel networking concepts Windows Java Web application development Cryptographic Security experience. Subversion svn. Knowledge of OracleSQL Secure projects Any previous knowledge of Galileo Other Information Staff will be based in the secure offices in Leatherhead and Security Clearance SC will be required so staff must already hold at least BS clearance and be clearable to SC.
