Deutsche Telekom plans to reduce number of stores, cut jobs - report

2019-07-03 11:13:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) The chain of 500 stores is considered too large as customers are increasingly using the internet for service. The number of branches should fall to 460. The company may also cut jobs, the report said, adding that of 4,500 jobs, around 1,200 have become redundant. The management does not find the decisions easy to handle as the shops with their magenta-coloured labelling belong to the core brand of Telekom. However, the demand in the shops has fallen enormously in recent years.
