A vacancy for a Digital Processor System Engineer has arisen within the Communication Processors Group based in Stevenage. The Communication Processors group is responsible for the development of Digital Processors for use in telecommunication Satellites. Examples of processor functionality include high capacity channelisers, onboard regeneration for command links and intersatellite optical data links or implementing cryptographic algorithms to protect the spacecraft. In this rewarding role you will be developing some of the highest performing digital communication payload equipment available anywhere in the world, and be part of the rapidly expanding UK space sector. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Responsible for ensuring systemwide coordination within an integrated project environment involving close working relationships with payload, system, hardware and test engineers. Requirements definition. Algorithm design and simulation. System architectural design. Digital hardware design and simulation. Laboratory demonstrator development. We are looking for candidates with skills and experience Educated to degree level in Engineering, Physics or related discipline. System Engineering and Requirements Management. Digital Communications. Digital Signal Processing. MATLAB, C or C Programming. RTL design for ASIC or FPGA in VHDL. Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills. Good communication skills and able to thrive in a team environment. Ability to present technical data in a clear and concise manner.
