Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. We are looking for an EPSSG System Interface Engineer to work at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks To ensure continuity of the core missions supported by the current EPSMetop system and to fulfil complementary user needs a followup programme EPSSG is currently being prepared by EUMETSAT. EPSSG is an approved mandatory programme. EPSSG will be based on a twosatellite configuration with the launch of the first satellite MetopSG A in mid2021 followed by the second satellite MetopSG B 18 months later. EPSSG will be the second generation of EUMETSATs polar system and as such will have a strong heritage from the existing EPS with its Metop satellites and operations, and from other elements of the EUMETSAT infrastructure in support of current programmes. The activities for this consultancy will focus on the definition and management of external and major internal system interfaces. The tasks and responsibilities of the key person to be undertaken during the EPSSG Phase CD will typically include the following Verify that all external system interfaces are identified and sufficiently covered in system requirements and system model. Verify that the major internal inter segment system interfaces are identified and sufficiently covered in system requirements and system model. Implementation of any changes to the system model identified in order to aid the interface documentation. Coordination and definition of technical interfaces with the external partners and service providers. Organisehold meetings and workshops with external and major internal interface partners to establish interface detailsagreements. Generate and maintain the system Interface Control Documents ICD. Provide support to general system engineering activities Analysis and trade off activities Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification Documentation of system design and justification Ad hoc internal reviews System level formal reviews Provide support to progress Meetings Support IVV activities Essential requirements The consultant shall have the following experience and background University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent. At least 5 years of experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground system. Experience of large space systems space andor ground segment. Experience of interface management and definition. Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition. Demonstrated capability to prepare and manage ICD. Desirable requirements The following experience would be an additional asset Experience in the area of LowEarth Orbiting satellites LEO. Experience in CORE design tool from Vitech. Experience with DOORs. Other Information Start date is as soon as possible. Fluency in English is mandatory.
